Frankfurt Airport will implement its new summer flight schedule starting on 30 March, coinciding with the start of daylight saving time in Germany. The summer schedule will run through 25 October, offering a boost in both the number of flights and available seats.
A total of 83 airlines will operate out of Frankfurt, serving 275 destinations across 91 countries. The airport expects more than 4,500 weekly flights, providing approximately 829,000 seats each week—an increase of 5% compared to last year. This includes around 1,000 long-haul flights, reinforcing Frankfurt’s position as Germany’s leading international aviation hub with the most intercontinental destinations.
European Routes and New Additions
The number of flights to European destinations is set to rise this summer. Bulgaria’s Electra Airways will debut mid-May, offering twice-weekly flights to the coastal resorts of Burgas and Varna in partnership with SunExpress. British low-cost carrier easyJet will return to Frankfurt after a five-year absence, providing twice-daily services to Rome and Milan Linate.
Germany’s Condor airline is also expanding its network, adding 10 new routes to popular destinations across Germany and Europe. Starting with services to Berlin and Hamburg in early March, Condor will introduce two daily flights to Munich and Zurich, and a daily flight to Vienna. The airline will also begin offering a new route to Rome, continuing to Palermo, and introduce new services to Paris, Prague, Milan Malpensa, and Larnaca, Cyprus, in May.
Long-Haul and Exotic Destinations
Condor will enhance its long-haul offerings this summer, with twice-weekly flights to Panama City starting 11 June. Other year-round destinations such as Johannesburg and Bangkok will remain on the schedule, with new flights to Sanya in China beginning in July, via Bangkok.
The Lufthansa Group is also adding new destinations. Air Dolomiti, the group’s regional carrier, will fly to Corsica starting 17 May. Discover Airlines, the group’s leisure carrier, will increase flights to Greece, adding weekly services to Kefalonia and Kalamata. Discover will also expand its year-round service to Kittilä in Finnish Lapland.
Austrian Airlines will continue its service to Linz, which was reintroduced during the winter timetable, offering up to four daily flights this summer. Lufthansa will resume flights to Bydgoszcz in northern Poland and reintroduce twice-weekly flights to Lamezia Terme in southern Italy starting in April. Additionally, Kazakhstan’s Air Astana will expand its Frankfurt network with three weekly flights to Almaty.
The summer schedule at Frankfurt Airport signals growth and greater accessibility for travelers, with expanded services both within Europe and to global destinations.
