China Airlines (CAL), based in Taiwan, has announced a new partnership with Apple to enhance its baggage recovery process. Starting now, travelers with lost or delayed bags can use Apple’s Share Item Location feature to privately and securely share the location of their AirTag or Find My network accessory with CAL’s customer service. This innovation aims to speed up the recovery of luggage, providing passengers with greater convenience and peace of mind.
CAL has long been committed to digital innovation and improving traveler services. The integration of Share Item Location allows customers to send the location of their AirTag or Find My accessory directly to CAL’s customer service team, making it easier to locate lost bags quickly.
To use the service, customers can generate a Share Item Location link in the Find My app on their iPhone, iPad, or Mac. This link can then be shared with CAL either through a lost baggage form or directly with an agent at the service counter. The airline will integrate the location data into its existing baggage tracking systems, helping ensure a smoother and more efficient recovery process. For added privacy, location sharing automatically ends when a customer is reunited with their bag. Customers can also stop the sharing at any time, and the location link expires after seven days.
CAL has consistently focused on enhancing user experience, and the integration of this new technology aligns with its ongoing digital services overhaul. Other recent additions include the CAL App, Dynasty Sky Reading, Online Check-in, Auto Check-in, and iFoundU services.
