Jet2 will begin offering direct flights from Jersey to Bournemouth in 2026, expanding its services to the island. The airline will operate the twice-weekly route between July and September 2026, marking a significant increase in its offerings.
This expansion is part of a broader strategy by Jet2, which plans to increase seat capacity to and from Jersey by 50% compared to 2025. The new Bournemouth service will provide over 7,000 seats, catering to both island residents and visitors.
Stephen King, Chief Operating Officer of Ports of Jersey, welcomed the move, calling it a “major boost for connectivity, tourism, and the local economy.” Jet2 will also add an extra weekly flight to Newcastle and extend its summer flight season for East Midlands and Leeds Bradford airports.
Mr. King noted that Jet2’s continued investment in Jersey reflects a strong confidence in the island as a desirable destination.
The new flights are supported by the Government of Jersey’s better business support package. Deputy Kirsten Morel, the Minister for Sustainable Economic Development, expressed his delight at the investment, predicting it would bring “thousands” of additional visitors.
Tricia Warwick, CEO of Visit Jersey, called the expansion a “significant boost” for the island’s visitor economy. “Connectivity is crucial for Jersey, and this expanded access will make it easier for more visitors to experience our beautiful island,” she added.
